Help! Cement + digital camera = I'm an idiot

Hi guys,
So last night I dropped my new Pentax Optio S on the ground. Somehow I'm lucky enough that it landed right on it's most vulnerable spot - the lens. Now the lens won't go back in. I don't know what to do! I'm living in New Delhi for the next 8 or 9 mnths and I would really like to get it fixed but I would like someone that knows what they're talking about and someone that won't rip me off (it's a huge character fault but I'm an incredibly cheap person). Does anyone know of any good places? Or should i just wait until I get back to Canada and take it back to the store I bought it from (my warranty doesn't expire until a month after I get back)

I have alot of family back in Canada and I'm really desperate to be able to send them the great videos and pictures I could with this digital. (I've turned into one of those people that can't remember what it was like before all this global technology!).

thoughts?????????

thank you so much!!!!

camera repair

Well I am from New Delhi but at the moment I am in Ottawa, Canada. Lets see what I can tell.

There is a place in CP--called Dass studios, very famous--you should ask anyone in the market, they will be able to give you directions.

There is another one where I got mine repaired--Anjali Studio's in NOIDA sector 27 market.

They should be cheaper in Delhi than in Canada.

If you let me know where you are in DElhi, maybe I could suggest something else.

What a downer !

Unfortunately you'll be lucky to get it repaired under 'waranty' as it would heve been an act of 'neglect'..

More likely to get something on insurance if you have it .. Mind you, after the excess and all that..

You will not qualify for free repairs as carelessness is not covered by your warranty. Also it is usually very expensive to get replacement parts and sometimes its a lot easier to just buy a new camera.

Good Luck
