Where is a good place in Delhi to buy a flash drive (preferably some brand that I might be familiar with, e.g. Cruzer), and what might a 4 gb flash drive cost?

There are plenty of places to buy these. As for brand Sandisk, kingston, transent etc are readily availble at competetive price.

Try to buy from big electronic shop or shopping mall as fakes from China are being passed to not so knowledgeble buyers too.

Yes Transcend is a good brand....

Nehru Place is a wholesale market (although they sell in retails too), and going there for just one Pen Drive may not be good idea....

Where are you staying ?

Kingston, Toshiba, Trancsend, HP, Moserbear are some easily available brands.

2Gb to Few Tb's are available now.But typical values are for
4GB, 8GB 16GB and 32 GB. You can phone and these can be delivered at your place. It you can tell in which part of town you are i can suggest some authirised dealer catering in that area.Rs.200 to Rs 1600 is range for different values between 2gb to 16gb.

Nehru place is good and prefect place.
Beware to buy from Palika Bazar and Gaffar Market, they sell spurious and over marked ones.

I'll be staying in Paharganj. Any trustworthy electronics dealers around there, or alternatively in the vicinity of Connaught Place?

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

That's quite a lot cheaper than around here. The cheapest 4gb one I found costs the equivalent of about Rs. 1900.

But then your currency has taken a major hit in the last six quarters. Indian goods would seem to be about double of what they would have been values before the collapse of the ISK.

No it is O.k. in last couple of days prices have suddenly shot up. Dollar may have appreciated by 1% but these drives have appreciated by some 10% to 15 %.
