aha!....that's a straight forward price comparison (no technical issues to worry about). Remember - a mobile data service is effectively just like a mobile voice service except it allows you to connect to the internet and will charge for data (either by time, volume, or flat rate). So if the provider that you purchase from requires you to pay for roaming - it will apply the charge regardless of the whether you want voice or data (i.e - the roaming is always an extra). If you are staying in state - then you will save money by not having to pay for roaming (there are some providers like airtel that don't charge extra for national roaming).
So over to you on that one. Since you'll be staying for a few months at a time you have the advantage of doing either. If there is a non roaming data plan that's cheap - get that. On the other hand if there is a national plan that saves you the hassel of having to get another sim - why not? good luck. |
