| When to buy flights for Jan. I am planning a 4-6 month trip to India beginning in January '07. I've been watching different flight options for the past month and it seems that flights from JFK to India in June are cheaper at the moment than ones in Jan. I am wondering if this is how prices normally are or is it because I am shopping too early. Is Jan low or high season for India? Is there a time when I can expect flight prices to drop? I've had experiences flying to London where low season (Nov.) prices dropped once the high season (Sept.) was over so I'm wondering if the same will aply to India. Also, I have some friends I would love to visit in France and I am considering adding some time in Thailand as well. Does anyone here know what a good price for a Round-The-World flight originating from NYC and including these countries would cost? I've seen a few for $2,800 USD and one for $1,800 USD (from a website I am not familiar with). Might these prices drop also in late Sept? Is $1,800 too good to be true? Thanks for any help. |

| I buy my long hauls as early as I can. As cheap seats sell first the same flight just gets more expensive with time, the only exception being a special offer sold shortly before departure. For January this is unlikely. I am not at all flexible in my timing, so I never chance this. France: Air France have interesting rates to Delhi from Europe, so have a look at their prices from JFK and arrange for a stopover in Paris. The TGV takes you anywhere in France most effectively, but book ahead, as this works exactly like the flight-booking situation above. I would try to find a flight to Thailand from India, maybe even as an open jaw: travel in North India and fly Delhi-Chiang Mai, make your Way to Bangkok and fly Bangkok - Mumbai to do your stint in the south or whatever. As far as RTW is concerned I cannot help you.

| cheap flights Does anyone know wheres the best place to get cheap flights to Goa from the UK. At the mo specifically looking for november 06 and december 06, but also in general as from then will be flying there regularly. Looking for both last minute but also advance booking. So far the cheapest way i have found to do it is to book a package holiday and not use acc or return flights. We then of course have the added prob of return flights but some of us not looking to return for 6 months. Whilst some will return on the package hol flights after two weeks. We dont need the accomodation. Any ideas anyone?? thanks can fly from any UK airport. thanks |
