Travel from Delhi Airport To Train Station Hello, I am taking a domestic flight into Delhi and have a 3.5 hours before I want to catch a train to Hardiwar. I am wondering how far the airport is from New Delhi Train Station and if anyone has advice on what mode of transportation is best to make this commute. If I take a rickshaw any ideas on how much this trip might cost? Thanks

Dahlia, If I were you, knowing what I know about Delhi, I'd book a private taxi at the Airport and go directly to the station. It'll take at least an hour to get there, and some time to negotiate the station (one of the biggest in the world). That would eat up most of your time, and leave you a little to sort out some water, snacks, etc., for the ride up to Haridwar. The station isn't far from Paharganj, so the taxi fare would be about the same. Consult your Lonely Planet for some idea of what's "fair." The rotten thing: the taxi probably is going to cost as much as a second-class ticket to Haridwar. But as you know, in India you pay through the nose for speed. The main thing is to catch the train. I'd bargain for 300-400 roops for the taxi. (I paid less, a few years ago, but I'm guessing petrol has gone up a lot since then.) And since you're coming from the airport... well. What are they supposed to think? You'll pay for it.

Couple of years ago took a rickshaw to Delhi domestic airport from the railway station at about 8am took about 30-40 mins and cost about Rs110.00. But then I was with a local passenger (Mr S.K.Dutt from ONGC) with whom I shared the railway cabin & was also travelling to the airport & refused to take my share for the fare.
