Travel Advice - Cochin To Visakhapatnam

Hi Folks - I need an advice. I will travel from Cochin to Visakhapatnam in January 2010. I looked at the flights on makemytrip and I am getting paramount airways to chennai and then Indian Airlines from Chennai to Visakapatnam.

There is only 1hour 30 minutes between the flights. Will this be enough? Also does any one knows if we can do a through chek-in with the bagagge?

There is also another connection (cheapest) in the morning from cochin to chennai on paramount airways and then by Jet lite to Visakhapatnam. There is only 55 minutes break between flights. Makemytrip.com is not offering this option. Does any one knows if through checkin can be done for these flights if I book the flights seperately on their website and is 55 minutes long enough?

If any one did their journey between cochin to vsp via air - Can you please share your experience as regards to what airlines you used and facility of through checkin etc..

I have not personally traveled to Cochin from Vishakapatnam, although 1 hour 30 minutes is much much enough for you to do the checkin. All you have to do is come out of the arrival gate and take right turn and the departure gate is just a few meters.

Fortunately, Chennai airport is not that big so that you will not loose that much time walking from departure to arrival.

Thorough check in option will not be available for you and its highly risky too when involving two different airlines. Best thing is for you to clear the luggage and take the trolly yourself for checkin.

Thanks a for a quick and prompt reply. What about the other option? 55 minutes gap between flights. Will that be too short or do you think we should be able to make it even for that too?

55 mins is too short for even slighest delays. You need to show up at the checkin counter ateast 30 mins before scheduled departure. It would atleast take you 15-20 mins to reach counter with your luggage.

There is a bigger chance of you getting your boarding card if you show up just 55 minutes before the flight time, but your luggage may not be shown the same courtesy.

If you are not carrying any luggage, then there is a chance you can take when you have 30 minutes for the departure.
