timing reg. domestic flights
Hi guys.
How reliable are flight schedules for Goa-Mumbai? Are delays common?
I'm asking as I need to figure out when I have to leave Goa to reach Mumbai in time to catch my flight home to Germany which leaves at 1.35am on 18nov11.
Would a flight on the 17th, leaving Goa early afternoon, be okay or would you recommend that I leave on the 16th already?
If possible, I'd like to avoid the night in Mumbai, but not for the sake of jeopardizing the international flight.
Greetings from Munich!

Well, how reliable are flight schedules in Central Europe? Last year a peak in Iceland blew its top. This year German air-traffic controllers are getting bolshie. Keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best

Well, do I want to respond to that reply?
Better to say that I, of course, had the following in mind when I posted the question: weather conditions at certain times of the year, etc. Have been told that fog in Delhi does mess up flight schedules on a regular basis... this affects Goa departures, as typically planes come in from Delhi..

There is always a risk of missing the connection. If you book a ticket Goa-Munich via Mumbai and not two separate tickets, the airline will be responsible for your connection. So if you miss it you will still have to spend a night in Mumbai but at the airline's cost.
Fog is possible in November but it isn't as frequent as in December and January.

Without knowing the airline, and the logistics of the aircraft, it would be difficult to speculate whether delays in DEL impact scheduling in GOA. I'd reach BOM a day early, or take a train a day early and spend an overnight on a 2AC arrive in BOM mid-day to catch the late night flight to MUC Similar Threads
