Taxi to Pahar Ganj?

Hi-How much should a prepaid taxi to Pahar Ganj cost from the airport in Delhi? I like to be armed with that info. before arriving so I don't get overcharged

Thanks!

prepaid taxis!!

others here will tell you the exact price but the general advice is to head to the prepaid taxi stand (also available in the aiport) and they have fixed fares according to distances in km - you will find these prepaid taxi stands (sometimes called Traffic Police or Tourist Taxi depending on the city) in all popular taxi stands

I guess u have already read the report on that Aussie woman..

Book an airport pick-up service beforehand....U can look for Namaste tours in this website...they do pick-ups

It is a VERY SMALL PRICE TO PAY FOR YOUR SAFTEY!!!!! Moreover you will be dealing with honest people!

I believe Namaste charges 500 rupees for airport pickup - so, that is about twice as much as a prepaid.

BUT...as mountaingirl said, it's a small price to pay...USD 5 more than a prepaid to have someone greet you with your name on a placard, and take you where YOU want to go safely.

I would especially suggest this if you are a woman travelling alone, or a first time visitor to India.

Yup rs. 500 is darn CHEAP for an arranged airport pik-up. If on a strict budget u could take the airport bus which is far cheaper. However the story starts all over again once the bus drops u off s'where. So the namasteindia or any other reliable pik-ups are very much value for money as they'll take u 'home'.
