I can have a connection flight to Goa 9:30 in the morning ..
Or Later that day, at 12.30 or even later in the evening ..

Now i don't know whats best, going to
Connaught Place to find a room for 1 night, and then take a flight later the next day ... or is this too much efort, and could I rather stay overnight in delhi airport ..

I'm used to traveling, been in delhi for a few days before (short stop) but accompanied with indian ppl .. now I'm on my own ..
any advice would be welcome ..

Definitely sleep at the airport . . . not worth the hassle of anything else . .. . unless of course you're up for a drink, then get a cab to iffco chowk in gurgaon, 24 hour indian style pub . . . once in a lifetime opportunity its crazy . . . and a bit scary . . . but hey . . . we only live once!

Otherwise couch surf (www.couchsurfing.org)!! I live in Vasant kunj, very close to the Airport, but I'd hate to host someone for 6 hours!! But login and drop me a request and we can take it from there!!
what if . . . maybe . . . say . . . suppose!

Overnight

Assuming you are coming in from Belgium, you will first enter the international airport. You will have to take the transfer bus to get to the domestic airport on the other side of the airstrips. There is a waiting area in the international airport, complete with comfy couches and clean bathrooms. Crash there for the night. Get on the bus about three hours before your flight.

Do you arrive into, and depart from, the same terminal? If you have to leave one terminal (e.g international arrivals) and then go to another for your flight to Goa, check to be sure they will let you into the terminal. For Int'l flights, passengers aren't permitted to enter the terminal until 3 hours prior to the flight.

Waiting for the 9.30 flight after transferring to domestic will be manageable. Hanging around for later flights at the airport will get tiring and tedious.

And I would not advise trying to hit a far away bar at somethng like 3 in the morning. If one has the budget for that, better to find a hotel and stretch out. Safer, too.

Or maybe I am just getting old.

A seedy watering hole a few kilometers from the airport . . . not a good recommendation at all . . . guess I wasn't really thinking!

The airport authorities will provide you a seat on a transfer bus (every half hour or lesser). I'd suggest you transit to The domestic terminal t1D sometime around 430 am or so (when all the shops would be open and you can relax at the food court).
SMASH!!!!

Question Stay overnight at Delhi airport for morning flight

Hi All,

On my next trip, my flight back home will be at 8am from Delhi airport. I read that for international flight, we need to be at the airport at least 3 hours before the departure (which in this case means 5am).

I (also) read that it will take an hour from city to airport. This means I need to leave my hostel at 4am.

I hate the idea for having to wake up that early and I do not feel comfortable roaming on the street at dawn.

I am thinking to come to the airport at night and stay there until morning. Do you all think this is advisable?

Thank you in advance!!

Call on of the radio cabs, give them the time of the pickup, and they will be outside your hostel. Safe and simple. Depending on the time of the week and your location, you can reach the airport under 30 minutes at 4-430AM.
