I meant on-board. They do not allow the pax who are continuing, to disembark.

The interior of the plane is cleaned at every stop. I left my seat for a couple of min at a stop in Chennai and the cleaning crew picked up my business papers and reading glasses from the seat pocket. I spent the next 10 mins getting them back. They explained that in case they were deliberately left behind by a dis-embarking passenger, it could contain an "explodable device". I have no problems with that kind of security.
