Spicejet advice

Hi all,

Is Jet Spice reliable...I'm looking at flying from Chennai to jaipur in early January. It goes via Hydrabad....

It's the only option they offer, what concerns me is that there is only 35 minutes between landing and the next flight from Hydrabad to Jaipur...

It's the same airline, so I assum my luggage will be fine, do you think this will be enough time to get from one flight to the other in Hydrabad airport?

I think you mean Spicejet....

MOD NOTE: I have edited the thread title for clarity. For the chronically curious, it read "Jet Spice". I thought maybe he wanted to know the rules about carrying turmeric on planes!

Please check with the airline if it is the same aircraft....If it is not the same aircraft and if you are travelling with checked in luggage........it can get dicey.

In all probability it will be the same aircraft. I would bet on it.

In any case, if it is a spicejet flight throughout and provided you checkin at Chennai upto Jaipur, transferring the baggage is their problem. And so is transferring you.

I concur with others that it will most likely be the same aircraft but let me warn you of the boarding music.

Ok - it isn't that big a deal - but my god that song haunts me in my dreams.

In the name of happy customer service they have "boarding music" that's akin to a mix of elevator-music-meets-video-game-32-bar-repeating-annoyingness.

Some flights play it THE ENTIRE TIME. Some only from boarding to cruising altitude and then from descent to disembarking.

Of the flights I've taken with them, all have been on time, the staff helpful, the bags safely where they needed to be.

I bet my sweet batooty that Karuna's the mod who put the above note in.

35 minutes is too short a time...

I flew Spice Jet from Kochi to Mumbai in August without any delays etc whatsoever. I doubt whether you will have any problems.

As to today; the MAA-HYD & HYD-JAI both have same flight number - SG902, which makes me believe that it is same plane/flight with stopover in HYD. You might not even have to deplane in HYD.

...I'll know in due course I guess. I've booked 3-legs on it. No point pondering and yeah - what's not to like about the good deal?

{TO DO LIST: Add ear plugs in packing list! }

Yeah, the music gets on my nerves too. And I fly Spice 6-10 times a month! since they made Ahmedabad a major base.

I recall reading in their in-flight mag that the music was composed by one of their directors who is a musician in his "spare" time. Essentially what they were trying to explain was that since they got the music free, you'd just have to bear with it as it helped keep down costs.

And yes, efficient, friendly staff, usually on-time flights, reasonable fares (well, most of the time). Wish they had an FF programme.

As for the OP's question, as someone already pointed out above, probably it's a direct but not non-stop service, so he just has to spend 35 mins guarding his belongings while the plane is being cleaned at HYD. If he leaves anything on the seat or in the seat pocket and is not around, it will be cleared by the cleaning crew!
