rest rooms at chennai airport: need advice
i will be arriving late(8pm) at chennai airport on 6 november. It seems there are restrooms at the domestic termimal, which is close by the international. Has anynoe ever stayed in them, and is it possible for an traveller arriving late at the international terminal with plans to catch a train the next day to stay in the rest rooms?

I've no info on the airport.
If you have a railway ticket you can stay in one of the railway retiring rooms/dormitories at either Egmore or Central station. Central has 11 AC doubles at Rs600, and 23 AC dorm places at Rs190. Egmore has: - 10 non AC doubles at Rs375. 4 AC doubles at Rs600. 1 Deluxe doubles at Rs450. 1 non AC 4-bed room at Rs525. 14 places in an AC dorm at Rs150 (for 12 hours)

I suppose it all depends on where you heading for. Yes, the domestic terminal is immediately next-door to the international terminal (it's all the same airport). As I understand it it is pretty much impossible to get into either of the terminal buildings without a ticket to fly somewhere. Another thought... "restroom" can sometimes translate as "toilet" !!!!!

If the restrooms are run the same way as in Delhi then you have to have a departing ticket within next 24 hours before you are considered for a bed!!
Delhi is pretty much always booked out I imagine Chennai would be the same!! I agree with nick it's not so late just get yourself into Chennai and find a hotel!! In fact the hotels In Mahaballipuram would still be an option by taxi!! ![]() |
