Question Reliability of India Airways flights in Rajahstan

Hi all,
I am planning to go to India for two and a half weeks at the beginning of August (monsoon, I know) and want to do a tour of Rajahstan.

I don't really want to be stuck in a hot and humid car on bumpy roads for 7 hours at a time, so I was thinking that I could use Indian Airways flights to travel from
Jaipur -> Udaipur
Udaipur -> Jodhpur
Jodhpur -> Delhi
This would cut out a lot of unnecessary time in travel between the major centers and allow us to relax and enjoy the places we do visit.

BUT, I am a little concerned that I've been told that in India flights are canceled, postponed or even pre-poned all the time. It's been suggested I forget flying because we'll just end up waiting for hours in airports with no flights.

Can anybody with some experience of Indian Airways in North West India offer any advice? Would it be better just to book the car and driver for the whole tour after all?

thanks!

No idea. Just dropping a note that many of those companies offer flight passes, which might be something for you to look into.

My personal take would be it's never a good idea to go by tight schedules in a place like India (in fact as a tourist I'd try and avoid this most anywhere in the world to save yourself some frustration), but I really have no experience with flying internally there.

Jet Airways tend to be more reliable (and they're my preferred carrier).

Also agree with machadinha about planning for too tight a schedule. Allow for some flexibility.

Cheers
