Over-complexity at Air India website

For some reason Air India involves BillDesk.com in the payment process, thus adding a layer of complexity. IRCTC does very well without this layer-dealing directly with Banks and Credit Cards so I dont know why Air India needs this.

Right now I am feeling sore since BillDesk deducted Rs 9500 from my acount but failed to forward it all thru to Air India resulting in a Failed Booking (at Air India) but BillDesk shows OK so I am hanging in a limbo between Air India and BillDesk.com

Also the emails to Air India for help are not answered promptly (unlike IRCTC again), if at all (that remains to be seen).
BillDesk.com though have consumer service by phone (but they asked my to send emails).

I agree; the AI website needs a more user friendly interface.
I personally like the Kingfisher and Indigo sites, followed by Spicejet and Goair.

Now I have got an email from BillDesk.com saying that the payment was successful at their end and I need to take up with Air India.
Infact it got hung while transferring from BillDesk.com to Air India site so in all probability the BillDesk.com has not transferred the information to Air India.

It is a great pity that Air India site has got no consumer serive phone lines and all one can do is to email and wait for their tardy response (I havent any yet)

AI gives 10% discount for online booking but it is not worth it.

Does anyone here suggest what to do now?

Update: Bill Desk.com has agreed to a complete refund but says it would take 5 working days.
