One way LAX to Kolkata $500 (through Bangkok)
I got my ticket this week, one way from LAX to Bangkok Thailand on Eva Airways for US$375 (web only), leaving 30 Sept 1:20 AM, arriving 11:30 AM 1 Oct (3 hour layover in Taiwan). Found out about Eva via Travelocity, the fare was $420 on travelocity. http://www.evaair.com
Emailed some travel agents in Bangkok for one way ticket to Kolkata or Delhi, 5200 Bhat (US$125) to Kolkata, 7375 Bhat (US$170) to Delhi. http://www.travelconnecxion.com/ He accepts credit cards, so the ticket will be waiting for me when I arrive in Thailand. So that's $500 to India - One way ... not sure when or where I am coming back from, so that's why I did one way. No dealing with changing tickets, etc. Last edited by caliyogi : Aug 14th, 2003 at 07:37. |

That's a pretty good price.
For some other who don't want to do as much leg work, MakeMyTrip.com has some of the best rates from the U.S. I have been recently pricing out tickets and the same exact flight on Travelocity and Orbitz was around $1500 USD roundtrip from where I live. Same ticket on Makemytrip.com was around $1050 USD. A remarkable difference. It's a no brainer to see where I will purchase my ticket from. |

Argh!!! I tried using MakeMyTrip.com and it won't let me do anything! Everytime I enter in a departure, a window pops up that says "Departure must be 3 days after current date" no matter what date I enter!
Hmm... |

Just checked and seemed to be working okay....make sure to set the correct year.
Business class prices are also pretty good and I may have to splurge on my next trip since each time I keep swearing that I will never fly coach again. |

Actually, the site won't load at all now--and yes, I did set the correct year; anyways, it wouldn't matter as it was for flights in September or October (easily more than three days hence!)
Alas, I guess they just don't want to maky MY trip ![]() |

Although I do not know any details, a travel agent/friend here in San Francisco says he can do a roundtrip to India for less than $900.
