New: Bangkok - Andaman flights

Today's Hindustan Times had a photo of a surprised camera-toting tourist getting a dot inserted on his forehead, as he was one of the first to arrive from Bangkok - there are now direct flights.
I'm not sure which company and how often, but this opens up some interesting new Asian travel routes.

would like to know more about this.....I really didn't think direct 'scheduled' flights between Thailand and Andamans would ever happen. I'm torn between thinking 'YES!', and concern that this will be devastating to one of the last relatively unspoiled gems that remains that way only because of the relative expense and difficulty of getting there.

According to some news articles on the web, the airline
is BP Air that flies charters from Bangkok. They did fly 3
testflights in March but the real schedule starts Dec 15.
