Need info about Dorms / Accommodation at New Delhi airport

Hello,

If I am not wrong, Delhi airport (Domestic) should have dorms / rooms facility for the tranist passengers. A similar facility is available (atleast) in Kolkata airport.

I am trying to locate the telephone number of Airport manager (domestic). If anyone knows about existence of such facility (or the telephone number), please post it here.

Thanks,

Shastry

Write to Feedbackigia.DIAL@gmrgroup.in with your query and you will get an answer. I did some months back and was pleasantly surprised.

Cosmic Sprite, Thanks for your reply. I have written to them. Hopefully I should get some response.

Has anybody actually stayed in these dorms in past few months? Please update.

OK. Just got a reply to my mail from DIAL folks.

Kindly refer to your query in the trailing mail. It is to inform that due to ongoing renovation work at IGI Airport, presently there is no facility of Retiring rooms/Dormitory at Domestic/International Terminal.

However, it is suggested that you can stay at nearby hotels, probably at Mahipalpur which is in the vicinity of the Airport.

So, this settles it. Any ideas about a decent hotel at Mahipalpur? Don't want to spend too much on an expensive one for about 7-8 hours.

Good to know you got a reply from them, but disappointed at the news - didn't realise that everything is disrupted due to the onging renovation/upgradation of the airport. Mahipalur is about about 2-3 km from the international airport, if my guess is right. Here's a link or may be you can check the FAQs and forum posts for recommendations: http://www.indianholiday.com/hotels-...i-airport.html. Suggest go to the hotels' websites. There used to be the Centaur Hotel but I'm not sure if it's still operational and what the quality of service is like now. Skip Hotel Grand and U.S.I. Residency due not that close to the airport; also Uppals Orchard and the Radisson are high-end hotels. Good luck!
