Makemytrip possible scam
Hello,
A friend of mine bought an air ticket through Makemytrip from Delhi to Kolkatta. They were supposed to email the E-ticket, but finally they said that the E-ticket was not available, it had to be a Paper Ticket, and it MUST BE DELIVERED IN INDIA, not in outside India. Well, the problem is that she is arriving from Barcelona the same day, and transfering directly to the domestic flight (4 hours in between), so no possible address in India. Makemytrip says that if she wants to cancel the flight it will cost 50% of the costs. However, it was Makemytrip who changed the terms after getting payment with credit card. The airline involved is Air India. Any ideas? |

When is the flight?
If there's long enough in advance, I am wondering whether the ticket could be mailed to someone in India, who could then perhaps forward it air mail to your friend in Spain? Perhaps she could enquire with Air India whether it can be picked up from their desk in Delhi? |

Makemytrip has refused
Apparently,it seems that Makemytrip does not consider the India Air counter at the Kolkatta airport an Indian address...
My friend has already tried that way. There are only 10 days left before she starts travelling, no chance to have it sent to somebody in India, and from there to Spain, I guess... |

Contact your creditcard firm and make them debit the amount.
BTW this is especially easy with Diners Club and American Express. Hans

1. Call Air India and check to see if your friend is on their system for the flight. If she is, MMT is not scamming her.
2. She should be able to pick up her ticket from their offce at : New Delhi MakeMyTrip India Pvt. Ltd. F-46, Malhotra Building 1st floor, near Indian Overseas Bank Connaught Place New Delhi - 110001 India Phone: 011-4352-8687 Fax Number: 011-4352-8688 Operational Timings: Weekdays - 1030 hrs – 1930 hrs Saturday - 1030– 1430 hrs |

I think that with Air India, its always a paper ticket. For other domestic airlines, e-ticket would do.

I suppose your friend is not Indian.
In this case did she mention while booking the ticket that she was not resident of India. your friend could pickup the ticket from Air India counter at the domestic terminal. I do not think MMT is involved in a scam here. Air India still does not belive in e-tickets when some other domestic airlines have moved to ticket-less travels.
