last minute plane ticket to Port Blair

Hi,
I'll will arrive in Chennai on march 17 and would like to flight to Port Blair the next day (or 2 days after). Is it possible to get a ticket from one day to another when I'm in Chennai? And where? Or is it better if I book a flight on internet right now, and if yes does anybody experiment makemytrip, is it secure? The cheappest I find on makemytrip is one way with Kingfisher and the return flight with Air India (seems weird to me, but may be it's not???). Thank's a lot if you can help.

I booked with the same, but my flight isn't until 9 March. I didn't book return ticket as not sure when i will leave.

For 17th, the cheapest I could find is in www.cleartrip.com is Rs 4580/- and the flight is at 04:30 IST. If you go to www.flykingfisher.com and check for the same date, the price I got is Rs 4421/-.

I checked again for booking for one day in advance and the price I got is 5083/- in cleartrip.

Satyagraha, I think I'll buy the return ticket because I read (somewhere in this forum) that if you don't have a return ticket they may give you only a 15 days permit, and I hope to get a longer one.

Thats true, but they won't let you pay with a non-Indian card at Indian prices. They quote a higher price in dollars as you have to select that you are not a resident of India.

I also want to stay for more than 15 days, I made up an itinerary and will ask for 30 day visa.

You can book a ticket for the next day, however i think it is slightly more expensive this way.
