If you are a Kingfisher Airlines' passenger, it will be in your best financial interest to put up with the inconvenience of the airline's revised schedule and fly with it rather than seek a refund on your ticket. That is because you are unlikely to get it in a hurry.

In a move that is likely to hit the airline even more, some travel agents are maintaining that Kingfisher travellers should assume that all tickets purchased for flying with the airline are non-refundable.

I got my ticket by yatra. Here is a reply regarding my cancellation:

"As per your request for cancellation of aforesaid reservation we would like to inform you that for cancellation you need to pay cancellation charges of GBP 15.00 per sector, plus credit card surcharge and flight service tax are non refundable. So after cancellation of both sectors you will receive a refund of GBP 98.00. The refund amount will be credited to same card from which payment has been charged. Also we would like to inform you that the refund will be done, but it will take time as Kingfisher airline is facing some technical issues with refund process. If you would like to proceed with the cancellation than kindly reply to this e-mail as confirmation for cancellation for both sectors.

NOTE : We should receive your cancellation or date change request 24 hours prior to departure. If you are not able to reply in specified time than we request you to kindly contact airline for any changes or cancellation in order to avoid NO SHOW."

GO is full. You were quoted Either GoSmart or GoBusiness. Which in my parlance is walkup fare. If I were to be dealt this hand, I would hedge. It is very unlikely the Ministry of Civil Aviation, DGCA, and the ilks would not let Jet/Kingfisher/AirIndia all fail around the same time frame, and/or cancel heavily certain sectors.

You could try Garuda, but it seems to have been snapped up by an Indonesian airline, so I don't know if it is interested in the others.

Today I read that Jet is now getting sucked in to the same problem.
Indigo on the other hand seems to be doing very well and has the best on time performance. Now all their flights are going allmost full.

Thats a relief for me too Ivana. My hubby returns from abroad on Jet in a couple of days and I was a bit worried.

I hope your flights to Srinagar and Leh are on schedule too.
