Thanks Tony - I've been quoted £345 Lon-Mum for a June flight. Air India is £315 but lands just after midnight and would leave me with 10 hours to kill before my internal flight. Are we going off-topic here?

Jet is the far superior choice to fly considering their service.
Sorry, I missed out on the BMI and Virgin Atlantic flights. Also Air India does not have all flights going direct to London but via Ahmedabad or New Delhi, although the aircraft remains the same on the journey from Mumbai to London. Some of the flights are operated by the Boeing 747-400 and the remaining by Boeing 777-200.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Another thing I noticed about Air Hostesses on Jet Airways is that the ones assigned to First Class are much prettier than the ones serving Coach. The Ground Crew needs to be shaped up, but the flight crew is very professional.

The selection to be cabin crew with them is pretty tough! I spoke to a guy last year and they take you into a room where you have to introduce yourself, state your height and weight and reasons for wanting to become cabin crew, in front of the others (recruiters and candidates!), all in one presentation. After that they do a selection... either yes or no thank you!
