maree, can you book with Jet on-line? in March I could only look up schedule and prices. there was no on-line booking facility. they woudn't even accept credit card payment over the phone, and i had to go to the airline office to have the ticket cut.

I have used Jet Airways a number of times from the UK booking flights from Mumbai to Goa

From the website I found the representative in the UK and called their office (London office for UK)
I paid by switch and credit card and there were no problems whatsoever. In fact i would recommend the airline to anyone.

I foudn the rep extremely helpful and friendly and the service on a par if not better than most western based airlines

Good luck
Bryan

One of the internal airline companies were starting to issue e-tickets on 1st May, and I'm sure it was Jet.

Thanks, Bryan.

Yes, you can book on-line with Jet for most of their destinations except four (not Srinagar, v_v).

Anyway, I'm going to try it today... don't want to worry about clearing the Indian Airlines waitlist for my delhi-leh flight. will let you all know how it turns out... but won't really know until i board that plane on July 6!! Hopefully it won't be a case of me stranded in Delhi and US$117 poorer...

Maree, when you processed your credit card, did they show a wait list?? And did you receive a seat number?

NIT... confirmed, not waitlisted. No seat number though... but then even with a normal ticket you don't get your seat number until you check in. Twenty-six days to go.... guess I should think about getting a visa.

I did on-line booking and travelled on Jet Airways..Chennai-Delhi-Chandigarh-Delhi-Chennai trip absolutely no problem. Actually I would say service (decent meal on a 50 min. flight served very efficiently) better that Virgin Air. I made changes to plans (that's in-person only) and no charge. I am wasting a return ticket LHR to SFO because Virgin/Expedia won't make a change, not even for a fee.

We love Jet.

IA and Jet's online booking engines are great news for travelers. But bad news for Indian travel agents! We're glad we don't rely on booking plane tickets for people to make a living!

Now has anybody had success with IA?

We are hopeful this will revolutionize the whole "wait list" dilema that is a curse to all India travelers. But the IA website seems a little dodgy on this. You are still allowed to book/hold seats you have not paid for, and then cancell later, which is what clogs up the system for everybody else.

Hmmm, we also notice on IA's site, if you choose ...
"Booking on time limit basis · Pay at the time of collection of tickets."

as opposed to...

" Booking against online payment · Pay online using any Visa OR Master Card."

....your list of possible cities is different. What's that about?
