Question Jet Airways air pass

We are considering a 15-day Jet Airways Pass for part of our February-March first trip to India. From Delhi we would go to Khajuraho, Varanasi, Udaipur, Aurangabad and Madurai before ending in Kochi. The price ($630) seemed very high before I saw the price of individual segments and realized how long it could take to get to these cities by train. Does anyone have any experience with Jet Airways? Can you recommend alternatives?
We will spend our first week seeing Delhi, Agra and possibly Amritsar. Our last week will be Kerala or Goa before flying out of Mumbai.
This is my first post to this very useful site.

Did you check whether Indian Airlines runs on those routes? Indian Airlines has been cheaper lately than Jet Airways. They have a pass too, but I'm not sure it would be cheaper vs. individual tickets.

Jet Airways and Indian Airlines both have similar deals, as the last poster said, but a year ago (when the 15-day pass was $500), they matched each other's prices, and the only difference was in the schedules and stops allowed. We found Jet Airways had better destinations (for our purposes) in its sector passes, so we flew with them, and we found it an excellent airline in every way. I have never flown Indian Airlines, but have heard a few horror stories -- all, admittedly, well in the past. But often the two airlines were running virtually side-by-side, and Indian Airlines certainly looked okay to me, as far as organisation at the airport was concerned.

One of the best things about the Jet Airways pass that we selected is that it allowed us to go to Leh for a couple of days.... you have to choose your time of year carefully (we were there right at the end of October), and I am not sure whether it's started to warm up at the time you are travelling, but at least give this fascinating city some consideration... you'll fly over the Himalayas for the price of one sector of a fifteen-day pass!

If you are travelling between major destinations -- say, Delhi to Mumbai -- then it might be better to exclude this from the days in which the pass operates and buy this ticket separately; we found that Air Deccan flew us from Mumbai to Delhi at a price well-under what we would have paid if it were part of Jet's 15-day deal. However, Air Deccan's schedule is quite restricted, so it wouldn't take you everywhere you'd get to go with Jet!

Remember that the earlier you buy your pass, the more chance you have of getting the exact itinerary you are planning on, as all your destinations and times must be confirmed at the time you hand over your money. It's a good deal, and I think you'll be very happy with it.

Good luck!

I flew both Jet and Indian last December. Jet's services and amenities were much superior to Indian's.

Before buying an airpass, however, make sure you're going to stick to your itinerary. I ended up using only one of the five vouchers on my Jet airpass either because (1) I liked a place a lot and wanted to stay longer than I'd planned or (2) I didn't like a place that much and wanted to get on with my trip.

I travelled with a Jet Airways Pass and found their service excellent as compared with Indian Airlines (albeit ten years previously). I expect to be using another air pass later this month. I would certainly recommend it, and
depending on your routes and usage it gives a very substantial saving over individual tickets.

Enjoy!

I flewIndia Airlines 3 weeks ago from Kathmandu to Delhi.

I had been advised not to fly with them (horror stories, etc), however it was one of the most pleasant flights I've had...great service, great food, and we left and arrived on time.
