Is this connection wise?
I have booked a connecting flight via Indian Airlines Ahmedabad-Hyderabad-Vizag but now I fear the connection may be problematic.
The point is that A'bad-H'bad leg is part of an international flight from Gulf. It would reach H'bad at 9.30 AM and then I need to catch Vizag flight that leaves H'bad at 11.30 and so I have 2 hours. But I realized after booking that I would need to pass thru immigration at H'bad arrival. That would take at least 30-60 min (pls inform me on this). Plus some time for me to check-in and pass thru security and I feel I dont have a proper margin of safety (in case of delay A'bad-H'bad flight). So pls advise me if this connection is wise or not. |

Domestic passengers do not have to clear immigration, though it usually takes an additional 5 mins or so to reach the arrival hall because there is a mix of domestic and international passengers adding to a little chaos.
2 hrs is normally enough, even just over an hour will be. Same terminal, and quite efficient. Wondering if your Hyd/Vizag is a connecting flight in the true sense of the word (is it booked Indian Airlines right through), which will make Indian Airlines liable to put you on the next one, if their flight is delayed from Ahmedabad

If you are travelling a domestic leg in an international flight, you need to fill up a form and no need to pass through the long immigration queue. I had travelled once BLR-BOM sector in an international flight. All domestic passengers are allowed to exit through a particular way and you are out before your baggages come.

Thanks,
Owing to some miscommunication, I dont have a true connecting flight. And thats why I am worried. Re: immigration on a international flight, doesnt it make a difference if your flight is originating from? Suppose an AI flight from B'lore stops over at Mumbai, then logically there is no immigration for people that get off at Mumbai. |

![]() In fact, there is no requirement to carry your passport on board if you are a passenger on the domestic leg of an international flight. |

That about passport I know but it is a great relief that I wont need to pass thru immigration. Since I have 2 hrs, it is best to keep the tickets and hope for the best,
