i like both modes of travel; it all depends on my destination, cost (to some degree), time, itinerary and my state of mind and health. i took the overnight train from delhi to varanasi, but flew back. at the time, both suited me. i like train travel to watch the country go by, but i always want to get out and explore what i see so to be honest, that frustrates me.
both train and plane have their role to play in india travel. i flew spice jet three times whilst in india last time; they make that option pretty attractive and easy.
