Internet flight booking

I have been trying to book flights within India.

If I use an Indian web site for Kingfisher (for example) then I get one price, but if I use the UK website for the same company then I get an entirely different price; double the price. I wonder why.
Is there any law stopping me buying from the Indian website?
Does any one have any experience on this issue.

the companies that do do E-comm detects your IP address and if you are logging in from abroad they re-direct to diff URL where the prices will be in USD and on the higher side.

I know they can do that, but I dont think that's they are doing.

I have tried going to their Indian website and almost bought the tickets. I am wondering if they are going to charge me extra at the check-in counter.

I have bought tickets several times from Sydney, always paid the INR rate. Never had any issues.

LilBoy BigTown,
I have been thinking of doing the same. The prices are good if I buy in INR rate.

http://www.cleartrip.com etc is what you need. they should tell you whether the airline charges more for indians or foreigners (AI does).

most low cost ones don't

Compare fares at different sites:
http://yatra.com
http://travelguru.com
http://makemytrip.com

Try booking at the airline website, once you have the best fare.

I have made the booking through Cleartrip website and will be flying with AI.
The price I have got is not bad. For a return journey to Kolkata they charged me Rs 5500. There were a few airlines slightly cheaper than AI. However I chose AI because of the good timing and luggage allowance. I hope and pray that they don't cancel or change their flight time
Thanks Guys.
