Indigo Airlines
India's newest low cost airline, Indigo, has just started operations. Currently they operate only a few sectors from Delhi but are due to expand to many more by year end. Nothing fancy, its a single economy class, no frills airline.
Fares are quite reasonable and its advised to book in advance as is the case with all low cost airlines.
Too early to comment on performance and service. But I guess you got to accept the fact that its a low cost airline. Will take you point to point with no frills attached.
Incase anyones not aware, air fares in India have gone up slightly of late due to increasing aviation turbine fuel costs.
If your lucky to get hold of a INR 500 ticket, wait a minute, there's PSF=225 + Fuel Surcharge=750 + Transaction Fee=25, so thats a total of INR 1,000 as taxes(including fuel surcharge).
You get the ticket for INR 1,500.
I think the fuel surcharge is applied globally, correct me if I'm wrong.
