Hyderabad Airport by far the Best in India

Haven't yet seen the new Bangalore Airport, but from the reports I have heard Hyderabad Airport wins handsdown the Best Airport in India tag. Any one disagree with this assessment?

it is a good airport, and I agree that it is the best in India. but it still has plenty of (easily avoidable) problems, like head bangingly low ceilings, a lack of food outlets, difficult pick up and drop off access, poorly made approach roads... It is still very much an 'indian' airport

It's a nice airport, and compared to the only other airport I've been to in India - Visakhapatnam - it shines.

Two suggestions for improvement:
- more directional signage, or perhaps more "procedural" signage would be the way to describe it. Getting through security for domestic flights is confusing.
- turn the bloody PR down!! They announce every flight 114 times and they've put the speakers in these small bunkers at floor level so you are constantly bombarded while sitting in the waiting area.

Some photos of the new airport

The only complaint I have against the airport is that if you are not on business travel and have to foot your own bill you are screwed

Some typical costs.
  • Round Trip Taxi fare from the Airport to the City Rs 1000
  • Cost of a cappachino Rs100
  • Vey cool Hard Rock Cafe again will drill a hole in your pocket
