Hi,
I am arriving to Delhi Airport from Berlin Sunday 18 Dec at 3,45.
I was thinking to take a flight w Spicejet at 7,40.
Do you think 4 hours is enought for this? I was thinking 1 hour for customs, 1 hour for going from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 and arrive 90 min before departure. This will be my first time in India, so I m not familiar with times.
Is this doable?
Thanks!
Alejandro

Yes. That time is good enough - though not the break-up. The arrival formalities could take longer (at that hour esp). There's a bus between the international and domestic terminals. http://www.newdelhiairport.in/inter-...transfers.aspx

Hi there, how about at 2 hour 15 min connection time? My family is traveling from Chicago - Delhi on Air India. They arrive Delhi terminal 3 at 15:20 and depart the same day on Goa Air from terminal 1 at 17:45.

They will not have checked luggage. If they take a pre-paid taxi from terminal 3 to 1 do you think they will have sufficient time to check-in and catch the Go Air flight?

Thanks!!

Sorry, one correction: meant "Go Air" not "Goa Air".

ORD-DEL is probably a 777-LR, which means, 250+ pax. With no checked baggage, and if they are not really in the last few rows, they can make it to terminal 1 provided no delays.

Will we miss our flight? Thinking of fog, delays and distance between terminals!

Hi,

We are flying from Udaipur on Monday, landing in Delhi at 8.25am with Indigo, presumably at Terminal 1 with checked baggage to collect. We have an international flight with air India to the UK booked which departs at 1.15pm, presumably from terminal 3... We've heard varying things about the time needed to go from T1 to T3, and given the fog, we are apprehensive as to whether this will be achievable even if the flight isn't delayed - so far none of the flights we've taken in India have been on time, departing at least an hour late and we've had to run through security.

What are our chances?! We cannot risk missing our air India flight to the uk, are we best to fly to Delhi the day before just to be sure?!
Thanks in advance!!!

I would not risk this connection, so I would certainly arrive in Delhi a day earlier. I only base this on my own "comfort level". I would not be happy fretting about missing a flight home. No realistic way to predict, of course you may well be fine, or....

Looking back to Emilyjalabi's 2012 post, she never came back to tell us her outcome, now we may never know!

Good luck either way!

Ed.

If you bught the trip as one, and the first leg does not complete on time due to no fault of yours the airlines will put you on the next flight to complete your journey.

Indigo is the most punctual of Indian carriers, but they can't do anything about fog, and an hour late is really no big deal. You can afford up to a 2.5 hour delay.

Yes, changing to the previous day may be worth the money. And don't book two separate tickets for a same-day connection you 'cannot risk missing' (anywhere in the world) in future.

Early morning fog is quite common in Delhi in January and so a good chance that your Udaipur to Delhi flight may not take off at the scheduled time and the flight will wait in Udaipur to take off till the fog clears in Delhi and a good chance that the flight will arrive too late in Delhi for you to catch your international Air India flight to UK.

Agree with RPG and OldandRambling that getting to Delhi the night before will be less stressful
