how much for a flight kolkatta - delhi

hey all,

just wondering how much do you think i should pay for a flight from kolkatta to delhi?
any links would be great

The regular fare is about Rs.8000/- Try the budget airlines. In December I paid Rs.2700/- by Deccan airways & Spice jet. The fare depends on how many days before you book.

i had a look at the first one

they quoted me that much x2 for return thats only a hundred bucks australian... is there a catch im missing?

I have booked Air Deccan tickets on their web site Kolkata to Delhi 7 April Rs 1779 per adult - will put in a post at the end of April when we return from our travels. There is a whole thread on Air Deccan - I don't know how to put it in as a link for you to click on so suggest that you go to Forums, then Planes, trains and automobiles and scroll thru until you find it. Or you could try a search. I've read that internal flights with these budget airlines are around the same price as a First class train tickets. We were looking at 33 - 36 hours by train from Kolkata to Delhi - versus 2 hours flight. No comparison.
