how likely is cancellation?

we are flying out of mumbai at 13:35 on the 28th.

would it be madness to fly up from cochin that morning? there are flights arriving between 10:15 - 11:50 which would get us to mumbai in time.

this would save us a very long train ride and a night in bombay.

but what are the chances of the flight being cancelled and us missing our flight home?

btw, out virgin flight out was cancelled and we arrived a day late so maybe we have used up our cancellation karma!

thanks for any advice.

Arriving at the domestic terminal at 11.50 may not give you enough time to catch a 13.35 flight out of the international terminal, even if your domestic flight is punctual. You will probably have to collect your luggage and then transfer from one terminal to the other: short, but not really straightforward as you have to find the counter where they give you a ticket and then find the bus...

I think too risky, unless you book for the previous day.

thanks for your reply-

there is a jet flight leaving at 8:30, arriving at 10:15 which would be ideal - just worried about the likelihood of it being cancelled...

I have done a similar thing, flying from Khozikode to Bombay on the day of my long haul, but then I had 8 awful hours to kill in Bombay... still, had this flight been cancelled, I would have been in trouble. I flew Jet as well and I find them very reliable.
