Question How early do you arrive for internal flights

When people say to arrive at the airport early for an internal flight in India, how early do they mean? is 2 hours enough?

1.5 hours to 2 hours...depending on the airport

In our experience, an hour in advance is fine for internal flights. The real trick is figuring out exactly how long it will take you to get to the airport at a particular time of day. Ask more than one person, ie the night clerk, the day clerk, and the random taxi wallah lurking outside your hotel's front door, and plan accordingly.

30mins if you don't have to check in luggage.

Thank you

these responses are really useful. i'd not thought about the time it takes to get to the airport, so thank you for reminding me Namaste India. I think I'll aim to be at the airport 2 hours before depature, which should give a little breathing space if the journey takes longer than anticipated.

How early should I arrive to Mumbai's internal airport, if my plane leaves to Goa at 16.15? Is there some lockers to store my bagpack before that?

I usually aim to get there 1 hour before, never had any problems with this strategy. But definitely consult some locals as to how long it will take to get to the airport if you are unfamiliar with the city.
