How are the newer airlines?

If you have flown any of the newer airlines in India (other than Indian Airlines, Sahara and Jet), I would appreciate your impressions.

Deccan...Spicejet...Indigo...K ing Fisher...even AI Express. All of them!

How were they in terms of customer service, punctuality, etc? [If you are responding to my post, I assume they were ok in terms of flying safety at least. :-)]

Thanks.

I can't speak for myself as I have never flown within India, however I book travel for a man that averages around 6 flights a week and is seriously hard to impress. It was customery for him to fly on Jet within India. However, he was recetly booked on a Kingfisher flight. when he landed, he called to instruct me to only ever book Kingfisher in future. He was that impressed. His only complaint was that they do not serve Kingfisher beer. They are missing out on a great cross selling opportunity.

spicejet was fine (flew three times), relatively punctual (once they had a 25 min delay due to another plane having trouble to land or sth) and friendly.

Don't know the others (especially not the AI Express - do you have a link to their website? Googling doesn't do the trick), but I've never heard one good thing about air deccan.

Try http://www.airindiaexpress.in

Another wrinkle in the whole AI picture is that they are supposed to merge with Indian Airlines. Don't know how that might affect policies, procedures and service.

Thanks, that's quite a recommendation. I'll have to keep this in mind whenever I am booking my next travel.

Kingfisher rocks!

Kingfisher embarrases you because you think they've mistaken you for a first class passenger...then it turns out they treat everybody that way.
