Help with Domestic Flight

I am travelling to India in December (last time I was there was in 1994 a long time ago) and would like to know:

1. Is it better to book internal flight well in advance?
2. It is cheaper to book flights in India Rupees?
3. Can I book flights by using Indian website?
4. What would be the baggage allowance on domestic flight since I have 30Kg allowance plus hand luggage?
5. I arrive at 00:50 in Mumbai how long does it normally take to clear customs and immigrations? My past experience was several hours!

1. the world of domestic flts have changed immensely since 1994 so you have a wide choice of airlines and fares and schedules to choose from.
2. get to www.makemytrip.com they are good and will give you all the info you need.
3. It now takes abt 40 minutes to clear arrival procedures in Bbay

I checked on makemytrip but it seems that Jet Airways gives 20Kg allowance. And I have read on other threads that if you book and pay in GBP you get 25Kg is this true?

Many of the airlines offer very low fares if booked early. This month Kingfisher was offering fares as low as INR 2000 on some sectors and Go Air had promotional fares going for an incredible INR 995. Keep checking the individual websites of:
Kingfisher
Indigo
Goair
Jetlite
Spicejet

If you find a deal with a base fare of INR zero, book it.
The only way fares can go down any further is if the taxes on fuel are reduced, which is mostly unlikely.
