Help with Air Deccan - trying to buy online

Hi there,

I'll be leaving for India in December. I currently reside in Canada and have been trying to buy internal flights online. It is SO TOUGH especially with international credit card. I need to buy a ticket from AIR DECCAN as it is the cheapest for the route I'm looking for. But there is a mandatory field called "PIN" and I am stuck on this field. I really need to know what to put in here. I emailed them and they said it's a credit card pin code???? Anyone has successfully purchased from air deccan online with international card, please advise.

Thanks,
Elena

That sounds like the postcode, as long as you want an eticket it probably does not matter what you put there as long as it is valid. Try 110011, that usually works for me.

Looking at the Deccan website, the PIN field comes immediately after the street address, so must be the postcode. Try putting in your own post/zip code and if that doesn't work just enter a number that looks like it could be an Indian postcode (six digits).

Wonder how many digits. It sounds like it could be the credit ard security number 3 digits on the right side of the back of mater/visa or 4 on the front upper of an Amex..

Hi friend

In this case PIN means postcode. I had trouble with this part as well - it wouldn't let me type in my code as it begins with letters, trick is to cut and paste it from somewhere else, like notebook. Same with other things like mobile number, if I recall.
Anyway with a little patience and persistence I'm sure you'll get there in the end.

Not sure about putting in any postcode as I thought it had to match the billing address for the card you pay with - I may be wrong on that though.

how Elena?

Hi. Do you know how you did it?! I've been trying to do the same, and getting the same hassle! Also, does anyone know if the airport in Jaisalmer is open? and likely to stay open with the current situation in Pakistan (any fortune tellers out there?)
Anyway, have a great time.

success at last

Thanks Anders, just tried with a 6 digit PIN and it worked first go! Hmmm, 110011... i wonder where that puts me now?
Just noticed they charged me a Congestion Charge. Is that 'cause of all the bidis, or just 'cause it'll be winter?
Amazing travels

I have no idea where 110011 is. A few years ago I was buying a ticket from spicejet and they wanted a pin, I tried a few random numbers and 110011 worked.

My pin is 110008, so 110011 is somewhere in Delhi
