Great flight found: Aust - India - London

I have finally found a flight to India

and after all the trouble i had finding one, i thought id post the details of it so anyone else in my position can take advantage of it:

My girlfriend and I want to travel from Australia to London one way, via India for at least 6 months, but almost no airline flies to europe from australia via india.

We have found a Thai/Jordanian flight, goes via thailand, then either columbo, kolcutta, delhi, or kathmandu, then jordan, then london - AU$1300 (AU$140 taxes). Its fully open jaw: you can fly into one city and out of another (eg into kathmandu, out of delhi). you can change dates for free, even when ticketed, as many times as you like. you can stop at anywhere for as long as you like, and at as many places as you like provided you get to london within a year. there are side trips available from jordan to places like cairo, damascus, dubai etc.

return tickets are available, and im pretty sure you can just book the thai leg (aust/thai/india) one way or return with the same rules.

Hi Sticky

That is great news, thanks very much for sharing it as I'll find it most useful. Can you PM or post here where you bought the flight from? Do you leave Sydney/Australia on Thai or Jordanian airlines?

Cheers,
Kat

no worries katcalls, ill post it here so that other people can read it too.

the flight is ex perth, melbourne, sydney, or brisbane (bit of an arse, as i live in adelaide!), flying thai to bangkok, then thai from bangkok to colombo/delhi/kolcutta/kathmandu. Then jordanian from colombo/delhi/kolcutta (not kathmandu) to amman, jordan. then jordanian to london, or any side trips you like.

I found the flight by searching www.bestflights.com.au as you can read all teh rules of the flight from their search engine. here is the flight:
http://qfportal.com.au/qf_portal_WC/...714& ref=RJ09

then i went to flight centre, got the flight for AU$50 less
