Flying to Mumbai on Aug 07

Hi all,
I am landing in Mumbai on Aug07 by AirIndia. Given the condition in Mumbai with the rain, is it a good idea to cancel Mumbai as the destination and fly into a different city? My actual destination is Coimbatore in TN and I take a connecting flight from Mumbai. I am not landing in Chennai because the flight lands in the night and I didn't want to stay over night.

Now it seems like it's better to land in Chennai. Anybody know the current conditions in Mumbai? I really don't want to change the plans but I also don't want to get stranded in an airport either.

As Byronic recommended please refer to the other thread. Meanwhile also read this article in the Times of India.

IMO any foreign tourist who is thinking of visiting Mumbai must be crazy. The transport system is a mess and there is risk of disease.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have any plans to travel to the city of Mumbai. I plan to catch a connecting flight ( if that departs) to TN. Is it still not worth taking the risk? If the connecting flight is not cancelled and if I arrive safely, is it worth a shot? I am confused.
