Flying to Leh
Ive always heard that for a flight to Leh you should book months in advance. Well hot damn, it seems as if that is the biggest load of crap. At least in the Jet Airways website Ive been checking availability and its very rare to have a non available flight. For a flight tomorrow, Im sure youll be able to get one. For the 24th, when I plan on going, its easy to book as well.
Am I doing something wrong? Lucky? Not the busiest of times? Part two: Has anyone ever booked and payed online with Jet Airways? Im probably going to be doing this and was wondering if anyone has done it and has success stories? (buying through internet always seemed dodgy) Thanks |

flying into Leh am booking flights now: for the 28 of july-- there are no economic seats, only business class left. Thats on the Jet airlines. the indian ones are completely full. its high season-- everyone is trekking! call the travel agencies.. they are much more reliable then the sites.

Wow , youre right. .. I checked on the 28th of July and it is booked. I guess thats the really high season. Seems that June is a much easier month for Leh, thank god for that, less tourists I bet.
I cant do it by travel agents unless there is one in the Delhi airport. Does anyone have experience with buying the ticket through the Jet Airways website? It would be an Eticket so it shouldnt be a problem. Still a little skeptical though. Thanks |

im afraid i cant help you with your inquiries about agents (though i do know plenty people who have bought tickets online and everything was totally cool...)
but i just wanted to say that i see you are from Brazil---- and the way i am able to afford my trip to India is because i am building a website "all about Brazil" =) a guy who started a travel company is building websites for the countries his agency specializes in.. and im the one who is collecting and writing all the info for the Brazil site =D it is touristy, but i try to slip in more cool things in there after india--- brazil is my next destination!! (and NOT just rio!!) hehe just wanted to share. |

yesssssss any helpful tips from a native (
) would be excellent!likeeeeee nightlife. kind of hard ot rely on guidebooks and crap on it and any places that a tourist really shuold visit, as a tourist or as someone who wants to dwelve intooo the "real" Brazil (though, as i understand it.. there is about 20 different "real" brazils.. as with any big country heh) heh and thats funny, i never thought of it as "a russian american going to india via brazil.." BUT IT IS SO TRUE! HAHA amazing, actually =O) i wish you luck with your travels, mate! :tips hat: |

oh and.. have oyu been to the Amazon?
from all my reading.. i got this feeling that the Amazon aint wild anymore. at least you wont experience any of the lush, wild, unmanned amazon if you go on any of the popular tours the pantanal seemed like a more genuine thing. not so invaded and they are hella more concerned about the preservation of it.. which is really crazy, because why does the Amazon deserve less attention (maybe it is all the myth attached to it...) and, are the Afro roots as entrenched in the culture as it is written? i mean, im sure they are--- but asides from Salvador and the cuisine, how much are these roots felt (and where do they reveal themselves the most?) ...you definitely dont need to answer haha i mean, you are in INDIA for chrissake. ![]() but it never hurts to ask ![]() |
