Flying from Udaipur

Hi,

I will be travelling in India for 4 weeks in October. My international flight leaves from Mumbai at 4:45am on the 25/10 and I was thinking of flying out of Udaipur on the last available flight on the afternoon or evening of the 24/10 so that I am at the airport ratherthan worrying about getting a room for a few hours in Mumbai.

Can anyone tell me how reliable domestic flights are in India? I will probably fly Jet Airways between udaipur and Mumbai if I can get a seat. Should I fly back to Mumbai a day early just to be on the safe side as I don't want anything to go wrong and miss my flight home.

If you fly Jet Air, you will probably be O.K. They are a first class outfit. However, be aware that fog and atmospheric pollution often lead to delays and cancellations in India. For that reason, I would suggest returning to Mumbai a day early. If you are stuck using Indian Airlines/Alliance Air don't even THINK about cutting it close.

Thanks for the advice. The last thing I want is to miss my flight home, so it looks like I will be heading back to Mumbai a day early.
