flying domestically with a pet

Am sending a dog on jet airways flight goa to mumbai.i will not be travelling with the dog. Can anyone offer me any tips in relation to how we will be received at goa-dabolim airport. do they have a seperate space for me and the dog to wait 3 hours until boarding, or do we have to sit with everyone else? I would like to not have to keep him in the cage for the whole 3 hours leading up to the flight if possible......would love to hear people's experiences if they have already experienced this.
