Flying Delhi to Trivandrum

Hello

Trust my first post on this site to sound a bit daft. I am aware that there is loads of information on this forum but I am in a bit of a panic. First time etc etc. I'm trying to book return flights on Air Deccan (cheapest so far) but my credit card is being denied for some reason. It doesn't seem that they accept debit cards that are not with Indian banks.

Is this correct? Is there some trick with putting in the address correctly for my South African credit card?

I'm stumped.

Thanks

Yes,there are a few restrictions when it comes to the use of debit cards for booking ticket online on the Airdeccan site.Have you tried calling up one of their phone booking numbers? They might be able to help you out regarding the use of your credit card for buying the tickets.

Thanks very much for replying. I will try that. Perhaps best to be used them when in the country as the website says those tickets will need to be collected from an outlet. Have also tried other airlines and worked fine so perhaps just worth paying a little extra whilst still abroad and save on call costs.

You could always try emailing them about the issues regarding your credit card and possible workabouts. And if there is no response to it in a day or two, you can try calling them up.As for collecting the tickets,if its possible to do the booking over the phone, you can ask them to send a copy of the ticket by email to you - the way its done when booking online.Or even with just the PNR number of the ticket, its possible to get your boarding pass from their airport counter by producing your photo id as stated in the FAQ section of the Airdeccan site:-

Quote:
Where do I collect my ticket from incase I only have a PNR number but no print-out?
Air Deccan tickets can be collected from the airport reservation counter against valid PNRs and a valid photo identity card for verification. After collection of the ticket, all passengers have to proceed to the check-in counter.
Its would be worth making the extra effort to secure an Airdeccan ticket since the Delhi-Trivandrum route is one of the longest and hence costliest among the domestic routes.Usually there is a big difference in costs between the fares offered by regular carriers and budget airlines. The extra cost involved in making an internationl call to India for the booking would still be relatively cheap compared to the savings possible.
