Hi all,
I will be traveling to India for the first time (very excited) with my girlfriend, my plan is to spend 3 weeks in northern india (mostly Dharamsala and Rishikesh)in septmeber. I am landing in Delhi at 2:00 AM and I thought to catch a flight to dharamsala area in the same morning. I learned from my research the following: * the planes that are flaying to dharamsala are small and the luggage is limited to 10Kg. * There are flights to Kulu and it's 2 hours driving to dharamsala. What are my options ? and where I can buy tickets online. any help is appreciated. Tnx Pablo ![]() |

Just take the train to Pathankot (e.g., overnight Jammu Mail) and a taxi or bus the rest of the way to Dharamsala. Alternatively, there are buses daily from Delhi to Dharamsala. I keep hearing about flights to the airport in Gaggal, but I don't know anyone whose ever taken one and I'm not sure whether they are even scheduled every day (and, no, I'm not going to look up the schedule for you!)

Is there a airport in Pathankot ?? if yes you can take a flight to Pathankot and from there it would be 4 hours to Dharamshala..
you might want to google for MDLR airlines...they specialize in Northern sector (albeit its a new one).. |

I think Air Deccan fly from Delhi to Gaggal (Dharamsala).

There's a train from Delhi every day at 0500 that gets into Pathankot at 1345. You'd be in Dharamsala by 6. And with effectively no luggage limit.
