Domestic Indian Flights to Goa ... Recommendations
I've just returned after a nice holiday in Africa and thought i simply must recommend Kingfisher Airlines to anyone wanting to fly from Bombay to Goa.
With Brand new Airbus A300, video screens behind every screen, inflight entertainment ( video and audio channels ), toy planes for kids , a Menu to choose from for Lunch, world class service and yeah a gift to every passenger .. i could go on and on. And did I mention it is a budget airline. Price 1,675/- Goa-Bombay. With prices like these and service that would put even Jet Airways to shame , its great value for money. http://www.kingfisherairlines.com Regards Dr. Ambert --- http://www.goadentist.com "We're easy to pleasy" |

could be a great airlines, but their tariffs are based on residency as well. non-indian resident would end up paying 2 1/2 to 3 times the usual price ! deccan air and the spicejet are the only two airlines offering the same fare to all, hence for me the only option for budget air travel with in india. malvin |

I have used Air Deccan quite frequently. It's the cheapest out there. No frills and the occasional delay, but you can't beat there prices. I just checked for flights from bangalore to goa in January, and I can book Dyna fares for 500 rs one way!
That means Rs. 1,000 + 2x221 tax for a return flight to Goa. $30 for a return, that's crazy! Even a bus can't beat that price. I am willing to lose out on tv screens and toy plans for that! Even risk some waiting time. No problemo! |

At the risk of sounding like Mr. Vijay Mallya owner of the Kingfisher Airlines has paid me to post this, let me say if i were going anywhere I would not bet on getting on Air Deccan to get me there on time or even for that matter on the same day . There have been several cancellations of flights and they dont put you up in a hotel if this happens. So yes its very cheap to fly Deccan but sitting on a plane with a twin propellor and not knowing how old that plane is does not really make me very comfortable , so I guess its not one aircraft i will get on in a hurry even if its for FREE !

I guess it's a matter of experience...and budget. I have had quite good experiences with Air Deccan, in the worst case an hour delay. But indeed I've
heard other stories (but I've even heard bad stories about Jet Airways). For me, on my budget, for Blr - Goa, the difference between Rs 6000 en Rs 500 is too big to ignore! Perhaps a dentist budget can afford it, but not my budget ![]() |

that`s good you could travel on their indian resident travel fare,as to their website there are two different tarriffs.for example for the non indian residents the flights i was looking for. delhi-goa USD 225-275 goa-bombay USD 75-100 that doesn`t sound like a budget airlines fare and how ever for these short flights, what one can expect for a great service.do they serve free beer? this time i`ll stick to spicejet as they have the same fare for everyone, but for the future,i`m seriously thinking of buying a indian driving license to use for the identification!i`m also born in punjab and next time will surely give the kingfisher airlines a try but on a normal fare ! i flew once by deccan air and had no problems, although their turbo-prop machines might not be to everyone`s liking.i might take their chandigarh-delhi flight this time,as they have the best offer on this sector. Anywho! I just booked for January on Air Deccan. Too cheap to just let it go. I will see later if the dates will work out. And I happened to get one of the last Dyna Fares for January. I fly from Bangalore to Goa on the 18th and fly back to Bangalore on the 25th. Cost: Rs 1442,- ($32 for a return!!!) I checked again later for a friend who wants to join me and discovered the cheap fares are all out. To join me on the same dates, on the same planes, he will have to pay Rs 5550,- ($126) for a return.
I just checked other airlines for those particular dates: Kingfisher: Rs 8282,- ($188) for Indian resident, $220 for a foreigner Jet Airways: $267 for a foreigner On Spicejet one would have to buy 2 seperate tickets, 1 return blr - delhi and 1 return delhi - goa, which would be very out of the way and very expensive. Kingfisher too, does not have a direct service to Goa, which probably also accounts for the high price. In conclusion: I am VERY happy with my returnflight to Goa for $32!!!!! (while others on that same flight will be paying $126) |
