domestic airlines - which one to book?
domestic airlines - which one to book?
Hi,
I could not find anything quite new on this forum. Is the following rating OK in respect of punctuality, safety, and service
1. Air India, unreliable
2. Jet Konnect Jet Lite, good
3. Kingfisher, no as alsmost bankrupt
4. Spicejet ??
5. Indigo, good
6. GO Air ??
As I have to book a number of flights, I like to make the right choice.
Srinagar-Delhi-Bagdogra in one day with GO AIr, connecting time 2.15 h - is that a safe bet or mission impossible?
Thanks

It depends on the month of the year. The reliability and on time performance metrics are typically measured on route-pairs.
Jet?
Not happy with Jet. They rescheduled twice causing me to cancel and re-book to keep a connection, and then they delayed me 2 1/2 hours. I only just caught the connection. I do not need the stress!

GoanGoan......here & there
Indigo is the only airline worth flying with at the moment. I don't even consider the others any longer, unless Indigo's schedule does not fit mine.
It is also the only Indian airline making any profit.

just don't book air india at the moment due to all the workforce issues they're having, and kingfisher's been floundering a while as well - i always tend to advocate avoiding flying unless it's absolutely necessary because of the adverse environmental consequences, but also in terms of costs and the fact that the other options are so much more fun - especially if it's in south india you can hop buses, and with a tourist visa you can often book trains within five days of the travel date just by showing up at the railway station and figuring out the right window to ask at - an option most indians don't have and most tourists need because of the insanely early booking-up of trains. just my two bits - and good luck!
