Dharamshala to Delhi transport.

Dharamshala to Delhi transport.
Hi I would like to know the options for this trip. Is there an airport near Dharamshala, I thought the nearest was at Jammu annd the flightds from there to Delhi are expensive. However somone says that the nearest airport is a place called Gaggi and you can fly to Delhi from there.

So how far (and travel time ) is it to the nearest Airport from Dharamshala to get to Delhi. Approximatly how much is the flight and how frequent are the flights. Can they be booked over the net. What are the ulternatives. i.e Train Bus how long do these routes take.

OK so the questions is what are all the options to travel this route and which is the least trouble oh yes and which is the most comfy as the person traveling has been ill recently.

There is an airport at Pathankot, as well as the Kangra airport at a place called Gaggal. Kangra airport is served by the lesser known and hugely unreliable Jagson Airlines.
Kingfisher used to fly to Pathankot.

Jagson Airlines website seems to be out of order. Anyone has any ideas?

hmmm... makes one wonder if this is a reflection of their actual flight services! lol

Well, Kingfisher Red (the old Air Deccan) flies Delhi-Dharamshala every day, and back. Check out www.flykingfisher.com

Very expensive flights. Gaggal airport (listed as Dharamshala on the Kingfisher site) is 15 kms from Dharamshala.

Second alternative is to travel by road from Dharamshala to Pathankot (around 3 hours). Then, catch an overnite train to Delhi.

Third alternative is a luxury bus from Dharamshala to Delhi direct. Takes 12-13 hours. U could also take a taxi from Dharamshala to Delhi.

So, if expense is no big deal, the most comfortable will be the flight.

thanks. i'm in a bit of a hurry so looking at options. currently the best bet is the jammu rajdhani train. thanks for the tips and link.
