Departing from Goa Airport

I've read that on leaving from Diabolim Airport that Staff at the airport charge whatever they can get away with for any excess baggage weight. I think I read somewhere that some people have been charged £40/50 for 4 or 5 kilos over.
My departure flight will be with SpiceJet and though I hope to be within the weight regs, I note that their web page shows 70 rupees per Kilo. Would there be any point in showing this in print to the Airport personnel if my luggage is slightly over the weight and I am overcharged .
Has anyone had experience of this in Goa?

40/50 pound would be the correct charge for over the limit baggage on an International flight and rightly so IMHO!

On an Indian internal flight I would expect it to be less. International airlines charge this amount as a deterrent.

Just dropped a friend off at Heathrow, the friend he was meeting had a load of books she was taking to India and was being told she had to pay £300 as she had gone over the weight limit (I agree CH, rightly so), she was in tears, so they waived the extra charge, the pleasures of travelling business class.

Mind you, they each had to pay an 'on the spot' £40 fuel surcharge, they both smiled and paid, I'd have been jumping up and down and generally making an idiot of myself.
