Delhi to Udaipur - advice about flights

We have to go from Delhi to Udaipur on a particular day - Friday, Feb. 8 - to get there in time for wedding festivities that evening. Need to be in Udaipur by 5 pm latest, I'd say.

Here are the 3 flights going that day (a 4th is too early).

Taxes add another usd 35 or so to each ticket.

The Jet Air nonstop is great as to departure and arrival time - but it will cost 800 usd almost for the four of us. I guess I want to know - how risky do you consider the cheaper Indian and Deccan flights to be?

This is the only time on our trip where it does matter that we get there within an hour or two of scheduled arrival time.

Jet has good customer service and most of the time works fine. Indian is also good but their flights usually have delays. I've never flown with Air Deccan.

If you absolutely must get to Udaipur on time, go with Jet Airways.

I've flown Jet Airways many times and concur with pgupta's assessment. It is one of the world's great airlines.

I've also flown Air Deccan and was impressed with its service and punctuality. It's an airline 'on the make' and goes out of its way to satisfy its passengers.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of those two. You could, however, go wrong -- very wrong -- with Indian Airlines: perfunctory to downright bad service on the ground and in the air.
