Red face Delhi and Mumbai Airport Strike on September 29 !!!!!

Hi all. I have just been horified by the news that there is a strike of employees of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) scheduled on September 29, 2005. See the following article:
>ttp://www.financialexpress.com/fe_full_story.php?content_id=1 03448<.

I am so missfortunate that my arrival to India is sheduled on that very day - I should arrive to Delhi at 00:30a.m.. On top of it I have a connecting flight to Leh with Jet Airways at 5:40a.m.

Can anybody please give me any information regarding current development of the situation? Thanks.

They better be ready for me when I land on Oct. 2.!

To anybody who may concern:

I have contacted Jet Airways office and got the following information:

"Yes, it is true that AAI would be on strike only on 29th Sep,05, but our operations should not be affected because of this as communicated by APD Delhi in a recent meeting."

Well, good but it does not really say if the AAI buses will be providing transfer between terminals and if luggage handling will be functioning....

Anyway, I am flying Aeroflot who has flatly refused to change my booking free of charge - I will probably take my chance and see what happens.

Just to the contrary, Jet Airways offered to rebook my connecting ticket free of charge even in spite of my buying it through Aeroflot - I have been truly impressed by their care and service. Some more good points for Jet Airways!!!!!!!
