Delhi Airport - International flight with 6 hour delay until domestic Kingfisher

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be taking my first trip to India in 4 days and was hoping someone can help me navigate through the Delhi Airport. I will be arriving from an international flight at 11 p.m. and then will have a 6 hour delay until my 5 a.m. flight with Kingfisher to Amritsar.

I arrive in Terminal 3 and the Kingfisher flight departs from Terminal 3 as well. Do I have to go through customs and collect my baggage or is this just one big terminal that I can just go to the next gate?

Also, is there a duty free area I can purchase alcohol from? Is it in the international area before customs or can I get duty free in the domestic area as well?

Your help is much appreciated!

Lot of changes here in T3 best thing is ask your airline counter. They know whats required as you are having non-indian passport.
I think, you have to have security clearance if you are out of TRANSIT AREA.
And if you are going to security clearance- and custom check is likely to follow. But it all depends on which area you are IN. Even if you crossed TRANSIT AREA- they will ask you to go through whole exercise again.

All passengers arriving on an international flight and going on to domestic sector, will have to clear immigrations and customs.

no it isn't, nycank is correct; the GOI is 'the critical actor', whatever that means.
