december last minute domestic flights: help

Dear all,

I just need some advice on domestic flights. We 4 people travel to South India and we are thinking of taking a domestic flight around Christmas. The thing is that we dont know where we are going to be at that time since we go on backpacking. Do you think we will find a last minute flight to Mumbai from somewhere in south india (mangalore, Calicut, Bangalore, Kochi) or is everything going to be fully booked at that time of the year?

You will find last minute flights, sure, a fair bit of the time. You may not get too many flights or options though, if it is absolutely last minute.

And last minute flights will be more expensive, usually.

Mumbai is Business hub of India. Mumbai along with Delhi are the best connected cities by all means.

it might turn out be a bit expensive, but not as expensive as a flight to some of the tourist places like Kerela OR Goa.

i am flying from the US to mumbai, but looking to end up in goa. i am leaving in a week and have not yet booked my flight from mumbai to goa. do you think it will be possible to just show up at the airport and buy a ticket for a reasonable price, or should i buy a ticket ahead of time on-line? thanks.

It will depend on the date when you plan to take the flight...anyhow it wont harm you to have an advance booking as the last prices would generally be higher..
